Shady Hollow – Austin, Texas

Located in South Austin, Shady Hollow is an established neighborhood witth lots of trees and larger lots.  Approximately 15 minutes from downtown Austin, many folks choose to live here because of proximity, not to mention its exemplary schools.  There are several different sections of the neighborhood and the homes range in age, from 1970s to present.  The community boasts a neighborhood pool with clubhouse, four different parks with play scapes, four tennis courts, two nature trails and two basketball courts.  Median household income is around $65.000 with median age being 34.  Thirty five percent have college degrees and 42% of the households have children.  Great dining experiences await you nearby.  My favorite is Evangelines Café.  Check them out for their lunch specials or for their nighttime local music.  Maudies and Brick Oven are other good local choices.  If you are looking for a neighborhood close to shopping and a short commute to downtown with a small town neighborhood fee, and tons of local flair, Shady hollow just may be for you!
